This Privacy Policy explains how Scriptoss (the “Service”) collects, uses, stores, and protects user information. Our Service provides automated video transcript delivery via email. This Service integrates with YouTube Data API Services. By using Scriptoss, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

When you authenticate using your Google Account, we collect the following data:

  • Google Account Identifier: A unique internal ID to recognize your account.
  • Email Address: Used specifically to deliver transcripts and service-related notifications.
  • OAuth Tokens: Refresh and access tokens required to maintain your authorized connection to the API.
  • YouTube Data: Accessed via YouTube Data API, video metadata required to process transcripts.

We do not collect or store Google passwords or payment information.

3. How We Use Information

We use the collected data strictly to:

  • Authenticate your identity via Google OAuth.
  • Identify the YouTube content you wish to transcribe.
  • Deliver transcripts to your designated email address.
  • Maintain your user preferences and service settings.

Note: Your data is never used for advertising outside the Service and is not sold to third parties.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Infrastructure: Data is securely stored using Amazon DynamoDB with industry-standard encryption.
  • Token Safety: OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest and used only to facilitate the core functions of the Service.
  • Safeguards: We implement technical and organizational measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or misuse of your data.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties, except:

  • As necessary to facilitate the YouTube Data API services requested by the user.
  • To comply with valid legal processes or government requests.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data only as long as you maintain an active account. You may revoke access at any time through your Google Security Settings. Upon account termination or a specific deletion request, we will remove all associated personal data from our systems within 30 days.

7. Google & YouTube API Disclosure

Scriptoss uses YouTube Data API Services. Users are bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. We comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
